1. Introduction
This Volunteering Agreement (“Agreement”) is made on this ___ day of __________, 2025, by and between:
- Meremeta Community Initiatives (Mecin), a nonprofit organization registered in Tanzania under registration number OONGO/R/3515, headquartered in [insert location], hereinafter referred to as “Mecin”;

2. Background
Founded in 2020 by visionary youth, Mecin is a non-governmental organization committed to improving the welfare of children in Tanzania. Through advocacy, community mobilization, and strategic partnerships, Mecin empowers vulnerable children and promotes their rights.
Mecin is also known for its vibrant cultural identity. Guests are welcomed with traditional songs, dancers beating drums, blowing whistles, tapping legs on the ground, and confidently performing in front of guests. Whistle blows guide the rhythm, symbolizing unity, celebration, and the heartbeat of the community.
This Agreement outlines the terms under which the Volunteer will contribute their time, skills, and energy to support Mecin’s mission.
3. Purpose of the Agreement
The purpose of this Agreement is to define the scope, expectations, and responsibilities of the Volunteer while serving with Mecin. It ensures mutual understanding and respect between the Parties and promotes a positive, impactful experience.
4. Volunteer Role
The Volunteer agrees to undertake the following categories of tasks, based on program needs and mutual agreement:
- Office Administration: Assisting with documentation, communication, scheduling, and general organizational support
- Fieldwork: Participating in community outreach, data collection, child welfare activities, and event coordination
- Marketing: Supporting promotional efforts including social media, content creation, and campaign visibility
- Fundraising: Contributing to donor engagement, proposal development, and fundraising events
- Training and Capacity Building: Facilitating or attending workshops, skill-sharing sessions, and educational activities
- Other Tasks: Any additional responsibilities as mutually agreed upon by both parties, aligned with Mecin’s mission and the Volunteer’s skills
5. Mecin’s Responsibilities
Mecin agrees to:
- Provide orientation and guidance to the Volunteer
- Offer a safe and inclusive working environment
- Recognize the Volunteer’s contributions
- Ensure the Volunteer is not assigned tasks beyond their capacity or outside agreed scope
- Facilitate cultural immersion and community engagement opportunities
6. Duration of Volunteering

7. Working Hours

- Comply with Mecin’s Children Protection Policy (attached to this Agreement)
10. Termination
Either Party may terminate this Agreement with written notice. Upon termination, the Volunteer shall return any property belonging to Mecin and submit a brief exit report if requested.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
